The Latest... PPL Offers Deferred
Payment Option on Rate Hike
The
PPL electric utility estimates that the average
PPL electric bill for mid-sized businesses will
increase by 36.8 percent in 2010.
PPL
is offering a deferred payment option so that customers
can spread out the 2010 rate increase over several
years. Customers will pay 6 percent interest on
the payment deferment, and they must sign up for
this option by December 15, 2009.
Pennsylvania businesses are actively seeking out alternative power suppliers
in order to avoid the 2010 rate hike, and it is not too late to select a licensed
supplier that will provide reliable, low-cost power.
PPL
is no longer requiring that businesses Opt-in by
July 27th,
as they had previously announced.
